Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
Related the fuel lines under the intake manifold, hoping to get rid of a fuel leak. If that doesn't do it, I'll be replacing injector seals. Tomorrow, it's getting installed, along with a new turbo, as the older one has a nut bouncing off the impeller for probably 50k miles.

Ugh I gotta do the same to my NA... Every couple days I get a whiff of fuel on startup, and sure enough if I look it's a little damp under the rubber fuel lines...

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
Hey gang. Anybody know what these rhomboid shaped pockets are for in the bed of the bajas? I figure such a dedicated space must have a deliberate purpose. I went ahead and built a bed divider that sits nicely in the rectangular spot within the rhomboid. It worked great in my 19 Ranger and I was able to modify that one to fit the Baja. I also did a brake fluid flush today on the Baja. Pedal is way better now. Not so spongy.
Anybody done a complete brake replacement. Hoses and calipers and rotors?

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
The best upgrade that can be done to the Baja are brakes with 4-2 pots. I hated my OEM feel and once I had them installed, the Baja didnt nose dive anymore. Ive done it all to the Baja since 2008, WOW

I installed Sport Activity Lights (Hella 500s). I bought a partial used set a while ago and had the brackets remanufactured.
I am selling the brackets $90/Set shipped

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
Any more info on that pocket with the three switches? (I would like to add something like that)
Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
I'm going to guess that came from an Outback because of the rear wiper switch. What is that strange symbol on the center switch? Dennis
Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
This is my first post on this forum. I'm currently fixing up a project 2005 Turbo. Back in the day I bought a brand new 2003 non-turbo. It got wrecked 3 years later on I-95 so the car never got old with me. I'm glad to be back into a Baja and the turbo is fun. This car has 110k miles, came with a vinyl corporate wrap that was a pia getting off. A dent in the passenger side front door, 2 blown front speakers, bad axle on the front passenger side, bad water leak in the front passenger side, musty smell from water, torn front bumper, 4 slashed tires and a dead battery. I have been ordering various body trim parts that were missing both inside and out. Picked up a bed extender last week. The rear bed cover is mia but I do have the hardware for it.
I got this thinking it would be a fun project for me and mu son to work on so he could drive it in his senior year of high school. He hated it and bailed on me so I gave him my 2010 Ford Escape and I kept the Baja for myself.

New front speakers because I need music.
Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
My first attempt at a paintless dent removal. Ended up knocking it out from the inside but the door cross member was in the way. Not perfect by any means but better.

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
Long story short... I traded my Baja in a while back, towards an '09 Tacoma. Guy who bought it from the dealer found the FB group card I left in her, and reached out. We kept in touch. She blew a headgasket about an hour south of me in August. I bought her back. Just finished up the headgasket replacement. Drove her about forty minutes south today to pick up some used rims, then took the meandering and scenic route back home. Coolant tempts stayed constant, and she cleared all the emissions OBD2 tests. Once I get new tires on the rims (dropping them off Tuesday), I should be good to get her inspection current.
